Architecture and interiors for how India lives now.
Aalekh is an architect-led studio based in Bangalore and working across South India, designing homes, interiors and commercial spaces, founder-reviewed by Ar. Pooja Kothari, for families in the region and Indian owners living abroad.
Contemporary Indian homes, Bangalore & South India
Why Aalekh
A designed home, held to one standard.
We keep the studio small on purpose. A home deserves an architect's judgement, not a template stitched from a catalogue.
- AArchitect-led, not a modular factory. Interiors and architecture under one roof, drawn from the plan, not assembled from a product menu.
- BThe founder is on every project. Ar. Pooja Kothari reviews the design before anything is built, so judgement travels with the drawings.
- CSeven years, 27 homes and spaces. 20 interior projects, 4 architecture projects and 3 delivered remotely for NRI clients, across Bangalore and South India, one project at a time per team.
- DBuilt to run remotely. A video-first process so NRI owners living abroad see the home before it is spent on.

Our design language
India has always known how to build for its light, its air and its rituals.
Aalekh designs a contemporary Indian home, rooted in climate logic, courtyards, jaali and craft, and vastu when you want it. Not exotica, and not a copy of a magazine. A home that reads as Indian and modern at once, and stays cool because it is planned to.

In their words
Homeowners on working with Aalekh.
What our clients say on Google, in their own words.
Pooja took care of each and every small matter. She is so committed towards her job that she did not give a chance to compromise on any challenge, and communicated with every department, be it civil, electrical, plumbing or carpentry.
We purchased a HOUSE and Aalekh Architecture gave us a HOME. Immaculate and near perfect interiors are making us stay in the home itself. From design to execution, everything was planned well.
Despite knowing several architects, we chose Pooja for our 4BHK duplex in Jayanagar. What is particularly impressive is the very high quality of renders, which show you exactly what you can expect.
Initially I was skeptical, as she stays in Bangalore and our project was in Kurnool. Right from the beginning Aalekh had a vision and built our home of dreams accordingly. Any on-site challenge, Aalekh stands with the client and gets it solved.
Before you brief us
Questions homeowners ask first.
Do you design both interiors and full houses? +
Yes. Aalekh is architect-led, so we work across full-home interiors and ground-up residential architecture. Of the 27 projects we have delivered in seven years, 20 are interiors, 4 are architecture and 3 were delivered remotely for NRI clients, and we brief them the same way, with the Principal Architect on every project.
Do you take on commercial and office projects? +
Yes. Alongside homes we design offices and commercial interiors, from small studios to full workspaces. It is the same architect-led process and the same founder review, planned around how your team actually works day to day.
Can NRIs and owners living abroad work with you remotely? +
Yes. A large share of Bangalore homes are owned by families living in the US, UK, UAE, Singapore and Australia. We run projects over video with regular photo and video reports, 3D walkthroughs before spend, and a single point of contact. See our pages for NRIs for how that works.
Where in Bangalore do you work? +
Across the city and its edges, from Whitefield, Sarjapur Road and HSR Layout on the east and south east to Jayanagar, JP Nagar and Koramangala in the south, and Hebbal, Yelahanka, Devanahalli and Sadashivanagar in the north. Our studio is in Bangalore and we visit site through the project. Beyond the city we also take on homes across South India, and run them remotely for owners living abroad.
Do you design vastu-compliant homes? +
When you want it, yes. We design vastu-compliant when that matters to you, and sun and wind first when it does not, and we are honest about where the two agree and where a sensible trade-off is needed. Our design pages explain how we resolve those conflicts without silly compromises.
How do we start? +
Book a video consultation with the Principal Architect. We talk through your home or project, your site or flat, your timeline and how involved you want to be, then set out a clear next step. There is no fee talk on that first call, only whether we are the right studio for your project.

A real conversation with the Principal Architect.
Not a sales call. Tell us about your home or project, your site or flat, and how involved you want to be. Ar. Pooja Kothari will tell you how she would approach it and what a sensible next step looks like.
- One conversation about your project, no fee talk on the first call
- The founder on the call, and on every project we take
- Living abroad? We run the whole project over video
