Aalekh Design Studio ยท Bangalore

NRI home construction and interior design in Bangalore

Build, renovate or furnish your Bangalore home from anywhere in the world.

Distance is the only hard part of building in India, and it is the part we solve. Aalekh is an architect-led studio in Bangalore that runs projects for owners in the US, UK, UAE, Singapore and Australia over video, with the design reviewed by the founder before anything is built. You see the home before you spend on it.

Why owners abroad choose us

A studio that closes the distance.

  • See it before you spend

3D walkthroughs of your home are approved before a rupee is committed on site.

  • Weekly eyes on site

Photo and video reports every week, so you are never guessing what is happening.

  • One time-zone-friendly channel

A fixed weekly call in your window and a single WhatsApp line for questions.

  • Founder on the design

Ar. Pooja Kothari reviews the drawings, so judgement does not get lost in translation.

A  How it works

A remote project, in four clear stages.

01

Video consultation

We meet over video, understand the home you want, your plot or flat, and how involved you want to be. We map what runs remotely and what needs someone in India.

02

Design and walkthrough

Drawings and 3D walkthroughs you approve from abroad. Material samples can be couriered to you. Nothing is built until you have signed off the design.

03

Tender and build

We tender to vetted contractors, then supervise the work stage by stage with quality checks. You review weekly reports and sign off each stage before the next begins.

04

Handover

A finished home, documented. For second homes we can set it up lock-and-leave ready, or rental-ready if you prefer.

C  What we solve

The worries every NRI owner names.

You have heard the stories: money sent, work half done, no one to trust on the ground. Our process is built around those exact fears.

  • ANo blind spending. Design is approved on a walkthrough before spend, and money follows approved stages, not promises.
  • BNo silence. Weekly photo and video reports mean you always know what happened, without chasing anyone.
  • CNo lost design. The founder reviews the drawings, so the home you approved is the home that gets built, even from ten thousand kilometres away.

D  Questions

Before you brief us.

Can you manage my project if I never visit Bangalore? +

Yes. Many of our owners approve the whole design from abroad and visit only when they choose to. We run the project over video with 3D walkthroughs before any spend, weekly photo and video reports from site, and a single point of contact. Some steps, such as registration or a Power of Attorney, do need a person on the ground, and we tell you clearly which ones and when.

How do approvals and payments work from abroad? +

We work in stages. Each stage has a clear deliverable, a set of photos or a walkthrough to review, and a written sign-off before the next stage begins, so money follows approved work rather than the other way round. We do not hold or move your funds. Confirm banking, tax and remittance details with your CA or bank for your own country.

What can be done remotely and what needs someone on the ground? +

Design, drawings, 3D walkthroughs, material selection, contractor tender and progress review all run remotely. Plot registration, some bank formalities, and legal signatures may need you in person or a Power of Attorney given to a trusted family member. We map this out at the start so there are no surprises.

Which time zones do you work across? +

We hold review calls in windows that overlap IST comfortably with the US, UK, Europe, the UAE, Singapore and Australia. You get a fixed weekly slot that suits your time zone, plus one WhatsApp channel for quick questions between calls.

Do I need a Power of Attorney? +

Often, for construction and legal steps, a Power of Attorney to a family member in India makes things smoother, but it is not always required for interiors. The right answer depends on your project and your paperwork, so confirm the specifics with your lawyer. We will flag where one helps.

Can you renovate my parents' home while they live in it? +

Yes. We plan phased execution so the home stays liveable, with elder-friendly detailing and clear dust and noise management. Your parents deal with one studio contact, and you get the same weekly reports wherever you are.

Your home in Bangalore, run from wherever you are.

Book a video consultation with the Principal Architect. We will map exactly what runs remotely for your project, and what does not.
