Vastu on demand, never as an excuse for a bad plan.
Plenty of Bangalore families want a vastu-compliant home, and many do not. Both are legitimate. What we refuse to do is hide a weak plan behind vastu, or dismiss vastu as superstition when a family holds it dear. Our job is to give you a home that works in light, air and daily life, and to make it vastu-compliant when that is the brief.
Read the principles that matter and much of vastu turns out to be old climate and settlement logic for the Indian subcontinent. A lighter, lower north-east that catches morning sun. A heavier, taller south-west that blocks the harsh afternoon. Water to the north and east, fire and heat to the south. Open centre, the brahmasthan, left uncluttered. For a home in Bangalore's latitude, those instincts and good passive design point the same way far more often than they collide.
So we start every project the same way. We ask whether vastu is part of the brief, we agree how strict, and we design from there. No lectures, no upsell.

Main door placement and the direction you face on entering.
- Kitchen and cooking direction
Hob to the south-east zone, cook facing east where the plan allows.

The heavier south-west quadrant for the head of the household.

A north-east or east placement, calm and set apart.
- Water, tanks and toilets
Bore, sump and overhead tank zoned to the recommended sides.
- Staircase and the centre
Stair to the edges, the brahmasthan kept open and uncluttered.
When they clash
Conflicts, and how we resolve them.
Real sites do not always agree with the ideal vastu diagram. A narrow plot, a fixed road side, an existing tree or a bylaw setback can push against a rule. When that happens we do not fudge it. We name the conflict, show the trade-off, and let you choose with your eyes open.
- AWest-facing site, kitchen wants the south-east. On a west-facing 30x40 the south-east corner is often the darkest, deepest part of the plan. We show a fully compliant layout, a version that borrows daylight through a light well, and a sun-first version, with the daylight cost of each.
- BNorth-east toilet on a compact plot. Where plumbing stacks force a toilet into the north-east, we look at flipping the wet core, shifting the stack one bay, or accepting a minor deviation your consultant is comfortable with. Structure decides what is honest.
- CEntrance direction versus the road. When the auspicious entry direction faces a blank compound wall, we design the gate, path and threshold so you turn and enter on the intended axis, keeping the principle without fighting the street.

We set orientation, entry, wet cores and the central open space at the sketch stage, where changes are free.
Resolve conflicts
Where a rule fights the site or daylight, we present options with the trade-offs named, and you decide.
Review and build
The Principal Architect signs off the plan, and your consultant confirms compliance before drawings go to site.

Common questions on vastu design.
Do you only design vastu-compliant homes? +
No. Vastu is a capability, not a rule we impose. If you want a vastu-compliant home we design one properly, working with your family astrologer or vastu consultant. If you would rather we plan sun-and-wind-first, we do that instead. You choose the brief.
Can a vastu-compliant plan still be a modern, open home? +
Yes. Most vastu principles, a north-east lighter zone, a heavier south-west, a well-lit centre, kitchen and water placed thoughtfully, sit comfortably inside a contemporary open plan. We resolve them at the sketch stage so nothing looks forced later.
What happens when vastu conflicts with the site or sunlight? +
We name the conflict early and give you options. For a west-facing 30x40 site where vastu wants the kitchen south-east, we show what that costs in daylight and circulation, then a compliant version, a partly compliant version and a sun-first version, so you decide with full information.
Do you work with our own vastu consultant? +
We prefer it. If your family has a trusted vastu consultant or astrologer, we coordinate directly with them, translate their guidance into buildable drawings and flag anything that clashes with structure, bylaws or daylight before it reaches site.
Is vastu compliance possible when renovating an existing house? +
Often, within limits. Load-bearing walls, plumbing stacks and staircases are hard to move, so full compliance is rarely realistic in a renovation. We focus on the corrections that matter most to you, entrance, kitchen, prayer space, main bedroom, and are honest about what a slab and stack will not allow.
Does designing for vastu cost more? +
Design intent, not budget, drives our fee, and we do not quote figures on the website. A vastu brief changes where things go, not how much drawing is involved, so it does not add a separate charge. We scope every project on a video consultation first.
